Project Management
Most of our clients are busy people and while they have the flair and determination to drive a project forward, they have little time to attend to the rigour of making it work. In many of our commissions, we are charged with undertaking the role of Project Manager.
While practiced organisational and technical competencies are essential, the skill of a good Project Manager is founded mostly on good communication.
For projects that involve a number of professionals, complex financial arrangements, and with a range of funding partners, one point of contact acting on behalf of the client is often the most efficient route to ensuring a project runs to budget and on programme.
Acting as your Project Manager, we would need to understand and respect your day-to-day commitments but keep you informed and involved throughout.
In providing this function, we can offer a management service throughout the life of a project, including:
- initial consultation and stakeholder briefings
- community consultations
- assisting the client with brief development
- organising other professional input, for example, legal advice, valuers, design team and other specialists
- guidance on design suitability and cost estimates
- negotiations with the planning authority and other agencies
- discussions with potential funders
- co-ordination of multiple applications for funding
- management of contract procedures
- financial management and control
- general oversight of the project process through to completion
In managing the project's finances, particularly if the works have been grant aided, we are often best placed to collate all the documentation necessary for drawing down monies from funding agencies through their routine claims procedures.
Once your facility is established we can help you manage it. We assist in planning your staffing structure, writing job descriptions, preparing advertisements for staff and designing staffing rotas, through to organising activity programmes and marketing.
